CommunityMake room for one more.
By Sara Tilla
A small gathering, clear expectations and room for different sizes and tastes.

Start with a few people and an invitation that explains the basics. Ask guests to bring clean items in wearable condition, and be clear that nobody needs to bring a full bag or leave with one.
Make space to see the clothes properly. Simple labels for size and fit notes can help, but avoid assuming that a label predicts who an item will suit. Offer a private place to try things on if possible.
Agree on how choosing will work before the swapping begins. You could take turns, or allow everyone time to browse first. The goal is a comfortable afternoon rather than a competition for the best piece.
Decide what happens to unclaimed clothes. Ask owners whether they want them back before arranging a donation, and check what any receiving organisation actually accepts. A good swap ends with a clear plan, not an unwanted pile.
