CommunityA clothes swap that actually feels welcoming.
By Toni Mela
The everyday art of building a circle, one small invitation at a time.

Community often begins with a small opening. A message after a conversation, an invitation to join a walk, a spare chair at a table. It does not always arrive as a ready-made group of people who understand one another perfectly.
Make the invitation specific and easy to answer. A time, a place and a little context can take the uncertainty out of saying yes. It is equally important to make a no feel comfortable.
Connection takes repetition. A monthly coffee or a familiar walk gives people another chance to turn up, even if they missed the first one.
